Monterey Baptist Church's Youth Ministry equips and supports parents in their mission to teach their children the Gospel, raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and prepare their children for adult membership at MBC or a church of like-faith.

The Bible gives the privilege and responsibility of teaching children the Word of God and raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord to parents (Deut. 11:18-21; Eph. 6:4; 2 Tim. 1:5; 3:14-15).  Families may be accustomed to sending their kids places to learn instruments, sports, languages, etc., but Scripture doesn't have commands for those activities. As a church, we may have your children for 2 hours per week. On average, mothers are with their children (age 13 - 17) 26 hours per week and fathers 21 hours per week. Therefore, combining Scripture with the reality of the average American week, we dare not and cannot take that responsibility away from parents. We commit to concentrate our efforts on equipping and supporting parents in teaching their children the Word of God, and will not endeavor to become a substitute for such a privilege.

Camps and Conferences

MBC will plan to attend a youth summer camp each summer and a winter youth conference each winter.
